Frequently Asked Questions

Solo mode is completely free with both game modes (Traditional 2-penny and Fast 3-penny) fully playable. Multiplayer is a one-time purchase of $2.99 which unlocks hosting rooms, joining rooms, knockout mode, leaderboards, and playing with up to 100 mates worldwide. There are no ads in the app.
First, call heads or tails. Then tap "Ready, Spinna?" to arm the throw. Once armed, flick your phone sharply upward — like you're tossing a real kip. The accelerometer detects the flick and launches the coins. The coins will tumble through the air and land on the felt with realistic physics.
Make sure you've tapped "Ready, Spinna?" first — the accelerometer only listens after the throw is armed. Try a sharp, quick upward flick rather than a slow movement. If it's still not detecting, you can adjust the sensitivity: triple-tap on the score display to reveal the hidden sensitivity slider. As a last resort, a long-press on the kip paddle will also trigger a throw.
One player creates a room as the "Boxer" (ringkeeper) and receives a ring code like ANZAC-4827. Share this code with your mates via Messages, WhatsApp, or any other method. Other players tap "Join the School", enter their first name and the code, and they're in. The Boxer picks the game mode and style, then throws for everyone.
In Knockout, a wrong call or no call before the 3-second lockout means you're eliminated. Odds rounds (in traditional 2-penny) are a free pass — no one gets eliminated. The last spinner standing wins the crown. Eliminated players can still watch the game. The Boxer keeps throwing even if eliminated.
If the Boxer (host) disconnects or closes the app, the game ends immediately for everyone. All players will see "The boxer closed the ring" and be returned to the home screen. If a regular player disconnects, they're simply removed from the room and can rejoin with the same name and ring code.
Go to Settings within the app and tap "Restore Purchases". This will re-sync your purchase with Apple's servers. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that made the original purchase. If problems persist, contact us at support@anamali.net.au.
Solo mode is entirely on-device — nothing is transmitted. Multiplayer uses temporary first names and game data that are deleted when the session ends. We use anonymous Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. We never sell data or show ads. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
In Traditional 2-penny mode, if one coin lands heads and the other lands tails, that's "odds" — no result, throw again. Three odds in a row? That's 10 push-ups for the spinner. Five? Buy the school a round. In Fast 3-penny mode, majority wins so odds can never occur.
Check that sound is enabled in the app's Settings screen. Also verify that your iPhone's Ring/Silent switch isn't suppressing haptics, and that "System Haptics" is enabled under iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics.
Two Up requires iOS 17.0 or later. It is compatible with all iPhone models that support iOS 17. iPad is not currently supported. The app is portrait-only.
